Santa Bags

A heartwarming holiday tradition that benefits your family and your community.

Ingredients 

  • Santa Bag, or any festive bag or sack
  • Gently used toys, books, games, or clothes can work too
  • Small token gift, a new toy or treat for each child
  • Family time for meaningful discussions

Instructions 

  • Introduce the Tradition
  • Explain the idea of Santa Bags to your children.
  • Share how their toys will be repaired and rehomed to other kids in need.
  • Select the Toys
  • Sit down with your children and encourage them to choose toys they’ve outgrown or no longer play with.
  • Remind them these toys will bring joy to someone else.
  • Fill the Santa Bag
  • Place the selected toys into the Santa Bag.
  • Make it fun by letting the kids decorate the bag if they’d like!
  • Santa’s Visit
  • On Christmas Eve, leave the Santa Bag in a designated spot.
  • Tell your kids that Santa will pick up the bag and leave a small token of appreciation in return.
  • Exchange the Gift
  • Replace the toys in the bag with the small token gift before the kids wake up.
  • Share in their excitement as they discover Santa’s gratitude for their generosity!
  • Donate the Toys
  • Deliver the toys to a local charity, shelter, or community center.
  • Share with your children how their toys will help bring smiles to other kids.
