- 16 ounces bowtie pasta uncooked
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 16- ounce jar pasta sauce
- 3-4 garlic cloves minced
- 1 teaspoon salt more or less to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper more or less to taste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ΒΌ teaspoon crushed red pepper or chili flake optional
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
- Fresh basil or parsley optional

Preheat over to 375β.
Add pasta, onion, sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, Italian herbs, crushed red pepper (if using), and water to a 9β x 13β baking dish and stir.
Cover and bake for 40 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure all the noodles are submerged in the liquid. The pasta should be tender, and the liquid should mostly be absorbed when done.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle the top with mozzarella, and return the pan, uncovered, to the oven. Bake for 6-8 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Remove from the oven and serve with fresh herbs if desired.
