Deep Clean Oven

Learn about a non toxic way to deep clean your oven! Grease will fall right off!
Prep: 12 hours
Cook: 10 minutes
Total: 12 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • ¼ cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Lemon slices, optional, for extra fragrance

Instructions

  • Remove oven racks and any loose debris from the oven.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the baking soda and water to form a thick paste. Adjust the consistency as needed.
  • Spread the baking soda paste evenly over the interior surfaces of the oven, focusing on areas with heavy grease and grime buildup. Use a sponge or brush to apply the paste.
  • Let the baking soda paste sit on the oven surfaces for at least 12 hours or overnight to allow it to penetrate and loosen the dirt.
  • After the waiting period, dampen a clean cloth or sponge with water and wipe away the baking soda paste from the oven surfaces. Use gentle scrubbing motions to remove stubborn stains.
  • Once the baking soda paste is removed, squeeze the juice of a lemon over the oven surfaces to help neutralize odors and add a fresh scent. You can also place lemon slices inside the oven for extra fragrance.
  • Rinse the oven surfaces with clean water to remove any remaining residue.
  • Dry the oven surfaces thoroughly with a clean towel.
  • Replace the oven racks and enjoy your freshly cleaned, nontoxic oven!
